Chapman, Diane (aka Kathryn Chapman)—Mother of Mark Chapman, mother-in-law of Gloria Abe Chapman.
Chapman, Gloria Abe—Travel agent. Wife of Mark Chapman, daughter of George Abe.
Chapman, Mark—Security guard, general laborer, amateur musician, YMCA counselor, art collector. Husband of Gloria Abe Chapman, son of Diane Chapman, grandson of Grandma, son-in-law of George Abe. A devotee of writer J.D. Salinger, he identified strongly with the author’s fictional character, Holden Caufield. Former beau of Jessica Blankenship. Friend of June and Harold Blankenship, Dana Reeves, and Rev. Charles McGowan. Friend and underling of David Moore. Acquaintance of Paul Goresh, Jerryl Moll, Dr. Lee Salk and Jude Stein. Client of “Anne Jones,” Herbert Alderberg and Jonathan Marks.

Hendrix, Rev. Newton—Childhood friend of Mark Chapman.
Jones, Anne—Pseudonym of Mark Chapman’s psychiatric social worker at Waikiki Counseling Clinic. Informant to Jim Gaines and Fenton Bresler. Despite the fact that her real name was published in contemporary media sources, it is (astonishingly) not that visible on the Internet in connection with this story, as far as I can tell. Because of the hardship that previous publicity caused this individual, I will continue to use the alias provided by Bresler.

i didn`t realise that there were other voices of dissent toward lennon other than mine!
rock and roll pussy?
brilliant!
it has always been my point that sub-standard artists, or those artists insecure in thier abilities, should align themselves with some cause or such to bolster thier position.
rundgren spells this out quite clearly and lennonn`s faux jesus-like response is just plain funny.

I almost never thing about these kinds of connections. Very interesting how the threads run together, and how one person's life affects and is affected by so many others.

Libby, especially compared to the last list, huh.
Foam, everyone knows Grandma.
Alistair, did you read Lennon's response? It would be easy to see this more as Rundgren's envy than anything else.
Charles, if you think about all the people you know, and all the people they know, and could possibly introduce you to. It staggers the mind. Here, we'll stick to thepeople actually in the story.

OK I solved it. J.D Salinger did it. He killed Lennon.

Hee hee-SJ:-) I am like Charles in that respect-it takes me so much longer than most to come up with the connections between people and what they meant-once I get them-a light comes on-but I really have to look at only the case involved and nothing else -I am trying to help a blogfriend with what I remember about the Versace/Cunanan murder spree-I used to know a lot about the case and I am shocked at how much I have forgotten-am going to try to look up info for her now in fact-this really looks like it is going to be a fascinating series Xdell-I hadnt ever even heard of "Grandma" and many others before -I can't tell you how much I appreciate you doing these series for us-best to you and yours as always and I hope you have a beautiful weekend!!

i read lennon`s response and found it to be bit ego-defending.
there are a number of ways to look at this. one is that rundgren was jealous of a mega-star and was being resentful. rundgren has always had a cult following and certainly not the god-like persona lennon enjoyed.
rundgen, on the other hand, hit a nerve with lennon, i believe, in that he felt that the peace, love , and marxism thing was a put-on for record sales and for "adoration" of his young fans.
and so lennon wrote a smugly sanctimonious relpy to rungren`s commentary with all the attendant throw-away plaudits, nailing it with the "i will love you in spite of yourself" view that i`m sure further angered rungren.
i think further that rundgren exposed lennon`s sensitivity to the limits of his creativity in his post beatle mode, which frankly is sub-standard even without yoko`s shrill warbling.
lennon skated musically on the back of his beatle fame and is mostly unlistenable but for proselytised fans.
