In Case You're Wondering....

My series on Anne Sexton and Martin Orne got waylaid by several things.  First, I had a freelance deadline to meet.  Second, my nephews came to Cincy for a fun (but really hectic) week.  So I spent all my time with them.

The kids left for New England on Saturday, and I said to myself, "Finally.  I'll get some writing done."

Influenza had something else in mind.  I fell ill last Saturday and haven't recovered yet.  Yeah, I'm a wuss.  But when everything hurts, the last thing I want to think about is writing.

I'm much better than I was on Sunday (worst day).  And have made slow progress to normalcy (?) since.  When I'm back up to 80%, you'll finally get my IP address on your Sitemeter.

No wuss about it. I got the flu a couple of years ago and was down for two weeks before I actually started feeling normal. Hope you get to feeling fully yourself soon.

Flu has really nailed me a few times duirng mylifetime. The last bout dragged on for about two weeks. I don't consider myself a wuss -- or a superman, either. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Addendum: Having fun with your nephews beats writing almost any time. Family time is important.

Hi guys. Thanks for the kind words and the well wishes. I've been spending a good deal of my time the past couple of weeks trying to sleep, so I haven't been in cyberspace in awhile. But rest assured, I'm getting better.

Charles, when I see Libby, Jean and Devin posting despite greater suffering, I would say wuss:-) But we're getting stronger every day.

Ray, I couldn't beat the fun I had with the nephews. Part of it is that I haven't been this sick for this long for over a decade, and it really took me by surprise.

Foam, I am starting to feel better. Offense and defense to you too, Freundin.

    Alistair, I agree and thanks.

Tinkerbell, it's always good to see you. Thanks for stopping by and wishing me well.

Susan, old friend, thanks for stopping by and keeping me in your thoughts. We're seeing the homestretch, finally.

Ara, the contact details are on my profile page. Just click it in the bar under the header photograph if you really want to contact me. But judging from your website, I don't think this page would be a good fit for you.
